Per the Wireless Power Consortium and charger-testing outlets, Qi2.2-certified products climbed from 69 in August 2025 to 203 by October, 342 by December, 521 in January 2026 and past 637 by the end of February 2026 — roughly ninefold in seven months. Across the same window, total Qi2-family listings reached 2,665 by end-2025, WPC membership stood at 328 companies with over 91% focused on Qi, and analysts expect certifications to top 1,000 by the end of 2026.

What does 25W add over 15W?

Qi2.2 raises the wireless power ceiling from 15W to 25W, about a 67% jump. In testing, the 25W tier reaches roughly 72% in 30 minutes versus about 22% on legacy 15W, and fills a phone in about 60–75 minutes versus 90–110 minutes at 15W. Just as important, the Magnetic Power Profile lifts coupling efficiency to 85–92%, well above the 70–75% of traditional Qi, keeping heat in check.

Which categories are growing fastest?

Multi-device chargers now lead. Industry counts put 3-in-1 and 4-in-1 wireless chargers at roughly 36% of Qi2.2 certifications — about 229 units, nearly double the 120 desktop pads and 111 power banks. Car chargers round out the top three, helped by the same magnetic snap that ends the misalignment struggle while you navigate.

Why did it break out in 2026?

Three forces converged. First, flagships like Apple's iPhone 16 and 17, Google's Pixel 10 Pro XL and Samsung's Galaxy S26 made 25W magnetic charging standard, creating real receivers to charge. Second, certified transmitter modules passed twenty reference designs before May 2026, ending the bottleneck for accessory brands. Third, magnetic alignment finally solved the old misalignment pain. Handsets pull accessories; accessories reinforce the standard.

How should buyers read the certifications?

Look for the Qi2.2 mark on the box or maker's site rather than trusting 25W magnetic marketing lines. Note the thermal clause: Qi2.2 requires module surface temperature below 40°C at 25W full load, exactly the bar many uncertified 25W products fail. For export and procurement, CE, FCC and RoHS still matter, and in China new power-bank safety standards such as GB 47372-2026 are worth watching.
